Historic Inn and Event Resort

Simon Kenton Inn is in search of a new owner to continue the legacy of providing top-notch hospitality for guests and maintaining the historically important property. The property was established in 1828 as the homestead of Simon Kenton, famed frontiersman.

The Real Estate

The sale includes over 16,000 SF of buildings spread over 12 acres featuring old growth trees, Kenton Creek, and a large cornfield.

The Historic Inn features a working historic kitchen, a separate commercial kitchen, a restaurant and pub open to the public, several dining rooms, two outdoor patios, and five private B&B style rooms.

Three Luxury Treehouses overlooking Kenton Creek. Built in 2013, these are a guest favorite due to the secluded and unique experience provided. There are two construction ready plots for additional treehouses.

The Caretaker's Cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a full kitchen, and living room. Sleeps up to 8 people.

Barn on a Hill has four hotel style rooms with private baths. All rooms are ADA accessible and have separate outdoor entrances. The upper level is currently being used as the owner's residence but could be converted for guest use.

Kenton Hall is 6,500 SF with a capacity to host 350 people. Construction on the building was completed in 2017 and features vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, stone fireplace, full bar, two ADA bathrooms, sprinkler system, and a wooden pergola outside used for wedding ceremonies.

The Springhouse was built in 1828 and is the oldest building on the property. A natural spring flows from the small building, under a bridge, and into a scenic pond adorned with lily pads.

The Business

Simon Kenton Inn is comprised of three separate business under one company umbrella: the pub & restaurant open to the public, the lodging resort, and the special events venue. Though these entities each require unique consideration, they work in confluence to provide guests a full-service experience. There is no other privately-owned destination resort in the market that is capable of hosting a large event and provide lodging for 30+ guests.

The current owner has worked tirelessly to create a full-service destination venue that has a reputation for outstanding service. The new owner will acquire a piece of history that is also a profitable turn-key business with years of reservations on the books, a knowledgeable and experienced staff, with space to expand to their own vision.
